Heidi Simpson, Nurse Team Leader

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Nurse Team Leader.  Heidi is a Nurse Prescriber, and has chronic disease management skills in Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease and Parkinsons.  Her current post is Clinical Governance Assistant, supporting Liz Tait.

Heidi will be undertaking Minor Illness Management training course in order to develop her skills to support our acute care/triage.  Her induction programme will involve shadowing the team, and the GPs and Tim will provide her with mentorship.

We look forward to welcoming Heidi to our team on Tuesday 3 April.  Heidi will be at the practice on the PLT afternoon (14 March) for a training session with myself and Diane, prior to her commencing post.

*****************************************************************************************************************Diane Maciver, Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Diane has been appointed as the nurse team leader at the Linkwood practice, commencing in April.  We are delighted that she has secured this post in order to further develop her career.

We are, of course, very sad to be losing Diane, who has been an invaluable member of our team, dedicating her time and energy for the betterment of our practice and our patients throughout her 12 years here. We have arranged a collection, if anyone wishes to make a donation please speak to one of the receptionist staff.

The practice is in the process of appointing a nurse practitioner to replace Diane.

Dr Mark Houliston

GP Partner, Elgin Community Surgery

The practice is delighted to announce that Dr Amy Greensill will be taking up a salaried post.  This will mean that we will have two full time Doctors working at the practice supported by our very able nursing and administration team.  This appointment effectively stabilises the GP numbers.  We will continue to be actively recruiting new medical staff.

SPIRE - NHS Scotland is improving the way it uses information from GP patient records. SPIRE is a service that will allow small amounts of information from GP practice records to be used to help doctors’ surgeries, NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government to improve care and plan services, and to help researchers to learn more from patient information held at GP practices.

A new campaign is underway to inform patients across Scotland of the benefits of the service, and the confidential and secure way in which GP patient records will be used to help plan and improve health care services.

You have a choice about your patient record being used in this way. To find out more go to
